This quicktime clip is well worth the wait of loading. This bit of video caused quite a little controversy and extensive
investigation by alien encounter enthusiasts. This helicopter ride is hardly a fond memory for me. I was sick to my
stomach from all the weaving and dodging. The view however was unspeakably spectacular. Everywhere and anywhere
I go in this city, in it and above it, I'm always a tourist and somehow I'm always right at home. Looking back, was it only
a year ago? It all seems unreal. Like phantom limb syndrome, my skyline shows me shadow towers in my mind. "

I have the joy of sharing with you my concepts and results of my "armchair" investigation about the famous
and controversial NEW YORK UFO video filmed on July 24th 2000 presented on SCI-FI Channel Happens.

After having obtained a copy of the video and completing a series of extensive slow motion and frame by
frame analysis I was able to discover some anomalies that helped me to come to these conclusions.

I expose my personal observations (point of view)

1. Barbara S. says: "It's that the World Trade Center?", that indicates very bad acting.
    The helicopter is flying very close to the WTC twin towers and they obviously were flying in front of them 
     for some minutes. There are two possible answers: Barbara S. is acting and doesn't know what to say
     to fill in between the lines or she has a really low level of education because even a kid could tell which
     building is the WTC

     It's impossible that a sole person in earth that flies to take pictures of the WTC twin towers which were a
     BIG TOURIST ATRACTION for which people normally rent helicopters could ask someone "Are those the
     towers?" 

    I mean, what if instead of flying over Manhattan they were flying over Paris and having the Eiffel tower in
    the background would she ask, "Is that the Eiffel Tower?

    But then that would only demonstrate that she is really poorly educated not that the UFO was not real,
    but then again in my opinion this indicates that the person is acting and simply doesn't know what to say.

2. At some point when Barbara S. is in front of the person using the video camera not the towers, the UFO is
    clearly visible in the space between the two towers. But then in the next video frames there is some kind
    of smoke that appears behind the woman, just like the same smoke that the UFO leaves at the end when
    it elevates coming close to the helicopter and going in an upward motion.

  Well then if the UFO is between the gap of the two towers how is it possible that a smoke line 
     appears there and only appears in the next frames of the video and not when the supposed 
     UFO arrives there.

Anyway, let me say that this doesn't prove that the video is a fake... yet...

3 - Barbara. S. points and says that the UFO is there before it really gets to that point (you can watch this 
     clearly frame-by-frame) She seems to point directly to that point even when it hasn't arrived there yet. 

      So you still aren't convinced this is a hoax?

4 - The UFO travels at a very high speed until Barbara S. says "there", precisely besides the helicopter and the
     camera's field of view, it seems so unreal and it's really weird that it doesn't move at all because of the wind
     that the UFO's movement should have caused by coming so close. Any body of this size according to the laws of
     aerodynamics should displace the air that by logic was created by the UFO considering the closeness, it's size, and it's
     traveling speed.

    The normal human reaction when seeing and object approaching at great speed (like in this case)
     should be of protection instead of keeping filming. Any person could have gotten so impressed that
     would have stopped filming just because of the impression. or the camera moves because of the
     reaction of the one holding it. The helicopter stands absolutely still when it should have suffered a
     shockwave produced by the air mass caused by the UFO at a scarce distance as it can be
     appreciated in the video.

5.- The person with the video camera instead of doing a zoom in of the object, as anyone else would have
     done simply aims to the background and out of focus to record the object as it comes closer. Thanks to
     this smart move he manages to film the UFO as it flies towards and away the helicopter until it almost
     disappears. He didn't zoom in because he already knew the UFO was going to move the way it did.
     The person with the video camera knew the UFO was supposed to move from far in the background
      and then move towards them.

     I almost forgot... of course.... The person using the video camera is so good and fast at filming that moves
     the camera to the right and follows the UFO at an extreme speed causing a vapor condensation in the
     atmosphere, he doesn't get fooled. He knows perfectly where even a fly would move. As a matter of fact
     when the object passes besides them the camera follows the objects movement without hesitating!
     The person with the video camera managed to capture EVERYTHING on tape using a household camera and
     the way it manages to capture the UFO and follow it's trajectory WITH PRECISION moves directly and 
     following the exact movements of the object WITHOUT HESITATING and doesn't miss the shot!

        HOW MANY PROFESIONAL CAMERAMAN WOULDN'T WANT TO HAVE THAT ABILITY?

THE UFO'S VAPOR STREAK IN THE LAST TWO FRAMES ONLY GIVES SIGN OF A POOR IMAGE MANIPULATION.

® We can clearly see in the last two frames of the video that the object leaves a vapor trail behind and it wasn't properly added to the scene as it moves out of position going away from the cloud that is adjacent to it on the upper left corner.

  I ask you, Do you still think that this video is real?

  Well, for me it is the most important proof that this video is a Hoax, 
  but you still need to see the results that follow this investigation.

6 - If you analyze this video frame by frame and can freeze the frame in which the UFO passes close 
     to the helicopter, you will be able to see a dark shadow that passes by, but if you amplify the image
     you can see the intention of this video's authors to fool us.

footage of a UFO she captured on video tape, with the following letter:

SCIFI guys,

I saw your ad and realized I HAD to send this in. On July 24, I went on a helicopter ride over Manhattan
with a friend of mine (NOT my current boyfriend, so please don't print my full name, thank you) and we
saw a lot more than we paid for! We are still trying to figure this one out! We saw a blimp while we were
up there, so when we saw this thing we thought it was another blimp, and so did the captain, but then it
kind of floated really quick. Then it kind of turboed right past us making this really loud jet sound!!!!
Obviously we were all kind of freaked out at the time, but in the end it felt like whoever was flying it was
kind of goofing around with us. It definitely seemed more like some kind of weird airplane than a UFO.
Anyway, we have mostly just been showing the tape around to our friends and it freaks everybody out!
What I'm wondering is, is it worth anything to you guys? Make me an offer, this would be perfect for
whatever you're doing. Are you doing some kind of show like that old show with SPOCK about bigfoot
and UFOs or something?

®Due to the closeness of the object it should have hit the helicopter which didn't even move.

® In this take the UFO can bee seen between frames as it is clearly inserted in the building.

Follow these steps: 

To watch the NY UFO VIDEO you need the Apple QuickTime Player

1) Install QuickTime Player following it's enclosed instructions.
2) Download the QuickTime version from ALCIONE NY UFO VIDEO( 2.5MB )
3) Double click the file once you have completely downloaded it
4) Pause the video as soon as it starts.
5) Place the mouse cursor over the forward button.
6) Use the control arrows (left/right) to forward or rewind the video.
7) Now that you have seen the video do the following: Go to the end of the video some frames
before the Sci.fi Happens screen appears. Move the frames repeatedly and watch the movement
of the streak left behind by the UFO compared with the cloud on the upper left corner. Small detail, no?
